Tonight, the TSOM crew analyze the weird and brutal autotune impact on popular music. Introduced to soccer moms and strippers in the early-00s by rapper-turned-singer T-Pain, he developed and curated a sound where, through the use of a simple kit, you could auto-correct the pitch of lesser-talented singers and great seemingly perfect pitch and performance. However, we have since realized that the ability to autotune musical outputs opened a door of musical degenerates that could not be closed. Here we are left to sort through the absolute drivel created in the wake of T-Pain’s influence.
It’s horrible. We promise.
